Sour Sally Officially Certified Halal by MUI: A Testament to Commitment in Halal Compliance and Health

Sour Sally, a leading frozen yogurt (froyo) brand under PT Berjaya Sally Ceria, has officially received halal certification from LPPOM MUI (The Assessment Institute for Foods, Drugs, and Cosmetics of the Indonesian Ulema Council). This certification was issued on February 23, 2023, marking a significant milestone after 15 years of operation in Indonesia.

The First Halal-Certified Frozen Yogurt in Indonesia

According to LPPOM MUI, Sour Sally has become the first frozen yogurt in Indonesia to obtain halal certification. The certification process included a thorough evaluation of raw materials, production facilities, and operational management, ensuring compliance with the Halal Product Assurance System (SJPH) with an A (Excellent) rating.

Nurul Fajrina S.TP, National Halal Partnership Manager at LPPOM MUI, stated, "Based on LPPOM MUI's observations, Sour Sally is the first frozen yogurt in Indonesia to be halal-certified. We hope this achievement will inspire other businesses to obtain halal certification as well."

As a formal acknowledgment, the MUI Halal logo was officially placed on March 8, 2023, at the Sour Sally outlet in Emporium Pluit Mall, Jakarta. The event was attended by representatives from BPJPH, LPPOM MUI, Ustadz Aris Kurniawan, and Donny Pramono Ie, CEO and Founder of Sour Sally.
